AAMU is composed of six colleges:

The university awards bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in various fields of study. 

Accreditation

AAMU is accredited by the [Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)] and several specialized accrediting agencies in specific fields of study. 

Enrollment

As of Fall 2021, AAMU had a total enrollment of approximately 6,000 students. The student population is diverse, with the student body being primarily African American students. The majority of students come from Alabama. 

Tuition

The tuition and fees for in-state undergraduate students at AAMU for the 2022-2023 academic year is $9,432, and for out-of-state undergraduate students, it is $18,864. 

The university offers various forms of financial aid, including scholarships, grants, and loans, to help students pay for their education. 

The estimated total cost of attendance for four years at AAMU for an in-state undergraduate student, including tuition and fees, room and board, and other expenses, is approximately $70,000 to $80,000, depending on the student’s choice of housing and other personal expenses.
