Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM) is a private medical school in Dothan, Alabama. It is the first osteopathic medical school in the state and is believed to be the first osteopathic medical school in the nation established by a regional not-for-profit hospital.

ACOM’s mission is to “educate and prepare osteopathic physicians who will provide compassionate, patient-centered care to the people of Alabama and beyond.”

The school’s vision is to be “the premier osteopathic medical school in the Southeast.”

ACOM’s acceptance rate is competitive. In 2022, ACOM received 4,896 applications and accepted 208 students, for an acceptance rate of 4.25%. This is slightly higher than the national average acceptance rate for medical schools, which was 4.08% in 2022.
